I thought this was wonderful debut for a young author. Nick Martell’s writing has a natural and genuine rhythm, which made his story a quick and easy read. I was very surprised to find the book to be about 600 pages, but that didn’t stop me for devouring the world in which Martell created. It was difficult for me to read the main character’s point of view, and I found myself skipping over a lot of his word to get to the actual dialogue. Not going to lie, I do this a lot with point of views I found bit annoying. Regardless, Martell’s story was fun and fresh. I’m excited to see what the future brings to this author and this series.
