In a fantasy world where you have magic but lose bits of yourself anytime you use it, can you ever trust your own mind? Michael -- son of the so-called biggest traitor in the land -- can never know, and neither can anyone else in the kingdom.

If he wants to make something of his life -- even after he's branded a traitor because of who his father was -- Michael has to figure out how to use the special parts of himself that allow him to stand up for his family and friends. His story includes plenty of fantasy and plenty of thrills, but even more it includes fascinating introspection in a coming of age story relevant to those with and without belief in magic.

I discovered after reading The Kingdom of Liars that it's the beginning of a series, and I'm thrilled to read the next installment.
