The cover drew me in to this one. Just look at that moon! I was fascinated by the bits about the moon and the falling pieces.
I didn't like the main character at first, mainly because of the decisions he made, but I felt like he grew as the book went on. The book is long though so it took a while to see that growth. The second half of the book picked up the pace. The guns felt a bit out of place but not enough to think too much about.
My biggest complaint was the amount of times the MC referred to the "girl in red". It seriously bugged me that he didn't call her by anything else. Big pet peeve. I know she didn't give a name but still. Once we knew who she was I kept thinking she was an entirely separate person.
Overall, once I got past the first half I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to seeing what happens next in this series.
