A fantasy novel that almost reminds me a bit of the Shadow and Bone trilogy. Right off the bat, a trial for Michael Kingman, wrongly convicted of killing the King, mystery surrounding the circumstances of his death. Flashing back to before all of this ensued, more action ensnares the reader even further. "The Kingdom of Liars" is set up to be what seems to be an exciting read.

The author's style connects Michael to the reader immediately. It feels as if you are being told a story instead of just reading a book. Michael reads as a young, bold, slightly arrogant character whose past has formed him into a clever swindler. Impressive imagery speaks to the reader and their imagination, setting the scene in a once renowned kingdom reduced to hatred between the classes. Mystery drives the story, keeping the reader hooked on every sentence. Very excited to see where this one is going!
