I enjoy reading without the aid of the jacket copy information, allowing a story to unfold as the author intended it. In this case, I have not gotten much of the information contained in the synopsis at this point in the story. Although that summary is interesting, I'm not sure I would have been interested in continuing to read without it. The story is a little hard to follow, as is often the case early in fantasy books where the world and everything in it are foreign and being thrown at you while you're also following a story arc. However, I am somewhat interested in what led our protagonist to the beginning of this story and how he resolves that challenge.
