The excerpt was short, but so far, I'm undecided about The Kingdom of Liars. Although I enjoy the fantasy genre, I wasn't a fan of how the first chapter began with a lengthy monologue despite the first sentence describing a dramatic moment. I felt overwhelmed by all the different details about the magic system in this world. However, I see that this is a 600-page book so it's possible that after the next few chapters, I'd be absorbed in the fantasy world. I do like the cover though!
