This CANNOT be a Debut Novel, It's that Intriguing!
I've heard many rumors about a debut novel that other readers have declared "2020's Must Read for Fantasy Readers and Fans." Based on the first two chapters, I can see what all the hype is about. The premise of the story sounds similar to "Seven Blades in Black" by Sam Sykes in that the protagonist is arrested for treason. However, the story told by the protagonist leads readers wondering what happened which led to the events of the arrest. And, to top it all off, the first chapter immediately explains the book's cover instead of having the mystery linger over the minds of the readers. This could be a clue from the author that the relevance is either essential to the story, or just a simple explanation of the world Nick Martell presents to his audience. In all, I'm curious to see where both the story, and the author's talents, will lead us!
