The cover didn't catch my eye at first glance, or even the second. It's hard to tell what genre the book is in from it. However when I got the email saying it was a debut fantasy novel, I had to take a look at it! After reading the sample, my opinion on the cover has changed! It fits it perfectly!
That first chapter and introduction to Michael Kingman is riveting! It's stunning and really captured my attention! The second chapter is no less fascinating. I love the way the world building is slowly unfolding! I'm adding this to my tbr now!
