Leena the Charmer has been exiled from her kind and now has a price on her head. Noc the Assassin, head of the Cruor assassin clan, has taken a death bounty on Leena, and they always honor their contracts. When they finally meet, a bargain is struck. She will get magical beasts for some of the assassins in return for her freedom. As the small group goes off into the wilds, both Leena and Noc have other agendas. Hers to acquit herself of the charges that led to her exile and Noc's secret needs a beast that might be able to solve his. As they journey, they start to form friendships and trust and they will need both to battle what's coming for them.
