Not what I was expected but the author has his own style and it meshed very well with the story and the characters.
I mainly read it for the romance because after the excerpt, I was beyond intrigued by both the MCs and wanted to know how the story would unravel for them. There wasn't a whole of romance (in the way I'm usually used too) but it wasn't bad either. It was different. It was more secondary to the main suspense plotline.
The adventure was unique, the story well detailed and fleshed out. For this alone, the book kept me interested and I found myself seriously invested in the outcome.
I'm not sure the cover really fit the end result but I can understand why this author has such a large fan base, his style of storytelling is engaging.
