This author's books are all connected in some giant spider web. I have read one other of the books, which I think was in the middle of a series, as there seemed to be much I didn't know about the characters. That was set during WW2, while this one is in the 1800s. It is a whole different collection of characters, with a cool setting. Interested to read more.
