This one is so good! I loved it so much! It still lives in my brain and surfaces from time to time. It was such a good experience to read about Juliet's experience. This book was one of the first I read on my (continued) journey to become a better ally to the LGBT community as well to communities of color.

It exposed me (more than much else had up to that point) to the idea of white saviors, and that people of color are their own main characters. It was the first step on what will be a lifelong path, and I am eternally grateful to this book for starting me down this path.

Juliet is a LGBT, Puerto-Rican American teen who lands what she thinks will be her dream internship with white author of her favorite book. Along the way, she learns about finding her own path, defining her own feminism, and that your heroes aren't always heroes up close. This book will stay with you long after you finish the last page! Highly recommend!
