It’s so hard to read books where coming out to parents doesn’t go so smoothly for the characters. I just know what it feels like at first and it’s so gut wrenching but it happens all the time. The main character, Julia, comes out to her mom and she is dealing with the aftermath of it and trying to find all the answers to life. Honestly it’s your basic coming of age story but better because it’s people of color (POC) representation and queer representation. But like also lesbian representation which we always always always need more of. One of my favorite reads of the year and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy when it is finally released. So excited for this author and what’s to come for them!
