The first I read the synopsis of Juliet Takes a Breath, it pulled me in. I felt that the story would be of a young Puerto Rican girl coming out to her Catholic family. I proud me so wrong but in a wonderful way.
Juliet is an amazing character that slowly discovers herself and what she wants to be. Through her internship, Juliet discovers more about her ancestors, feminism, and the LGBT community.
I was impressed with this novel so much. It is refreshing to read a story that makes you think about history. I was so intrigued with some of the historical references that I made notes of things I want more information on.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting inspiration or just a really good story.
