I was pleasantly surprised when reading the First Look; not because I didn't think it would be good (the summary sounded really interesting) but because it sucked me in more thoroughly than I thought possible. This book is about Juliet, a "a self-proclaimed closeted Puerto Rican baby dyke from the Bronx," and seems to be an important book -- it's about non-white feminism, homosexuality, getting out of poverty, and finding yourself (at least that's what I got so far from the synopsis and First Look). I also loved Juliet's sense of humor so far. I'm really excited to read the rest of this book!
