It starts with a sentimental atmosphere as somebody has died. But in a moment you find yourself secretly laughing at the funny manners the relatives all around the world show without exception--exaggerated show of grief and loss. Beautiful description of daughter's love for her father. The pace is just brilliant and the prose flows like serene waters. Step-sisters trope. The minor characters are also well crafted. The writing style is simple, lucid and comprehensible. The dialogues are heavy and often sarcastic. The pace of the story is just right. The things the protagonist is going through--emotional trauma, hiatus at work--are actually very relatable and real. This makes the protagonist a real person of flesh and blood.
Totally up for it and desperately want to know how Maya's life and fate turns out. Definitely recommend this book.
