To be honest, I don't know if I would ask to continue reading this book. It appears to be a family saga/drama, and I"m not in the mood for any more drama these days. But to be fair to the author, the first few paragraphs are engaging to the reader. The author did preface and give credit to people that helped with substance abuse issues, so that is a trigger warning the reader needs to be aware of. I also sensed some dissatisfaction with the Christian religion. I could be wrong, as I was only able to read a little bit. But I tend to stay away from books that belittle religions. In this day and age of seeing civil, religious, and personal liberties being stripped away in America, I don't desire to read or support any books that bash the freedom to believe what you what to believe, or to attend church or any other religious institutions.
