The book is quick and easy to read and written with each of the 3 women's perspectives, in alternating chapters. Maya is the Judge's daughter from his first marriage, Jeanie his second wife along with her 16 yr old daughter, Ryder.
Maya is a well-respected lawyer at a small firm in Georgia. When her father, Judge Joseph, passes away and leaves her the family home with a stipulation that her stepmother Jeanie must be able to remain living there, her world is turned upside down.
