Joseph Donaldson, a prominent judge passes away leaving his second wife, stepdaughter, and biological daughter to deal with the provisions of his last will and testament.

The story, told from different points of view, unveils the struggles each woman in his life faces as they deal with loss and grief.

From reading the excerpt, it appears to be an emotional novel leaving the reader to wonder how each woman will fare.

Although I enjoyed the narrative, it somehow didn't ring true for me as a four or five star read. I rated it three stars -- I liked it.
