Decided to DNF this one. I couldn’t get into the story. I haven’t read the first book in this series and even though I understand it can be read as a standalone, I was very confused as to what was going on in the beginning and who was who. It kind of felt like I was missing something. I only got a few chapters in, so maybe it gets better the more you read. It just wasn’t holding my attention and I found myself not wanting to pick it up. I haven’t read this author before and I’d be willing to pick up a different book to give it a try.
I don’t give star ratings to books i DNF because I feel it’s not fair to the author to rate something I didn’t fully read. Just because a book doesn’t work for me, doesn’t mean you won’t love it! So I’ll just say, if you like crime fiction, check it out for yourself and see if it’s your cup of tea.
