I've read and enjoyed other books by Melissa de la Cruz, and so I was especially excited for this one. Little Women was never a particular favorite of mine, but I of course know the story. I loved this re-imagined telling! I loved when Amy or Meg would point out something Jo had changed for the novel, and how it affected their lives. And then Laurie. I never felt Amy and Laurie would have really ended up together (except in the last Greta Gerwig movie version, where it seemed ok for some reason!). Laurie being more persistent in this version seemed more likely to me! All in all I recommend this book as a cozy read, especially during this crazy time where it feels comfortable to revisit old friends.
