Do you know those characters in a book you always dreamed would get together? The ones whose endings you would like to change (like Harry and Hermione....I will die on this hill)? That has always been Jo & Laurie for me. I KNOW changing a classic has some people upset, but this was a must for me.

Here is what I liked:
I loved being back in the world of the March sisters. The time period was well-preserved in this book and it was wonderful. This book isn’t a rewrite of Little Women, but an extension. This is the story of Jo March, author of Little Women and how the story she wrote isn’t exactly like the life they live. It felt like a good way to honor the book while making a different ending for Jo and Laurie. This romance was oh so sweet and I have a serious book hangover.

Here is what I didn’t like:
Retelling a beloved classic is risky. It’s a story thousands of people know and love. At the beginning of the book I was worried when a lot of changes were SO far off from my beloved Little Women. If this is you, keep going. Don’t give up because it’s worth it. My only serious complaint is that in this book Marmee is Momma Abba and that annoyed me. It changed her character too much from the darling Marmee of Little Women. However, since she didn’t have huge role, it wasn’t enough to not be a five star read.
