“Call it what you will. No one will read it, anyway.”

The year is 2020, on a cold Friday evening a young girl is sitting on the couch. In her her hands she is holding a cup of hot choco with marshmallows. On her lap lays a copy of ‘Little Women’ by Louisa May Alcott. While sipping her drink, the pages take her to Massachusetts, where the story is set.

The young girl bounds over the four sisters and their mother, who live in genteel poverty. There are chapters that make her laugh. Chapters that make her swoon. Chapters that make her angry and chapters that make her cry. With a deep sigh she closes the book, after reading the last page. She stares out of the window, the wind caresses her cheek, she closes her eyes, enjoying the silence and for a minute she wonders how her life would have been if she could have been one of the main characters of the book she loves to re- read so often with her whole heart. With a deep sigh and a shake of her head she returns back to her living room, she opens her eyes and decides it’s time to get herself some more choco with marshmallows.

I know this isn’t your typical review, maybe I should have mentioned how much I love the cover of this book. Or my strong Fangirl feelings for Jo and Laurie and how delighted I am that these two amazing writers decided to pick their names as the title for this book! Or maybe I should have written something really smart about the preview I enjoyed reading and how lucky we, readers, are to have the honor to read this for free.

But I am hoping the short review I wrote, will be enough. I am hoping it will show my love for the original book and how blessed I would be to receive this book. I have so many copies of the ‘Little Women’ and this one is just another pearl I need in my collection. For now I will just re-read one of the copies I already own and watch the movie with Winona Ryder. In the hope that maybe I am one of the lucky persons to win this amazing book. Loves, Gibby
