Jo has written a story that will bring money into a home in financial straits, but it requires a fictionalization of her own family. When it's wildly successful she must deal with the repercussions - an older sister not entirely thrilled with how she's portrayed and people clamoring for a sequel she's not sure she wants to write. While a little simplistic, I think this is a fun and enjoyable stab at the time in between the two volumes being published.
