This is a fun retelling of Little Women. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott was a loose retelling of Alcott's life. Jo and Laurie is a story of Jo March becoming the authour she always wanted to be. There are many nods and parallels to Little Women as well as Alcott's life. Anyone with even basic knowledge of Alcott or Little Women would be able to pull a lot of parallels from this book.

The writing is easy and clear. In a way, I feel I get the dynamics, thoughts, and order of the sisters better in Jo and Laurie.

I enjoyed the liberties taken by the authours. The dedication to readers was quite charming as well.

I want to keep reading because I want to know how Jo is going to handle writing her second book. I am sure it will loosely mirrour some of what Alcott went through during the same process.

The cover is catchy and anyone who is familiar with Little Women will instantly know what the title is referring to.
