Jo is a seventeen year old girl. She also happens to be the author of Little Women, a title assigned by her publisher and one she loathes more than anything. Jo is an author, a sister, a daughter, a best friend. Her first book did so unexpectedly well and now she's being asked to write a sequel, one she isn't prepared for in the slightest. Her sisters encourage her for their own reasons, be it fame or fortune but Jo can't imagine how to write more. Her best friend Laurie is encouraging, to Jo and quite possibly smitten with everything she touches. Jo continues to try to find her voice in her sequel novel as she battles loss, poverty, and so much more.

The lives of the March sisters is relatable and I love how the authors of Jo & Laurie focus on character building each sister in her own right. I cannot wait to continue reading!
