I think I am going to go with a 3.5 star rating for this one.
The setting was great, I am a Florida girl myself so I could connect. I liked the characters pretty well, they had some struggles and weren't made out to be perfect. I enjoyed the dual perspective in this particular situation, sometimes I find it to be too much or that it even takes away from the story.
Some of the Spanish was thrown in without an explanation for a non-spanish speaker to be able to completely translate the meaning. Having to translate for myself in some instances, I felt, took away from my enjoyment of the story.
Overall I found the story to be really cute and I could definitely see myself watching a movie with the same plot line (I have). The firefighter element was a big plus for me because honestly, who doesn't want to imagine a gorgeous 6 foot something saintly man?
