I probably would not have picked up this book based on the summary because I am not normally into rom-coms, but the cover’s bright cheery colors drew me in and I wanted to find out what it was about. Right off the start, I am loving the Navarro brothers. Based on the sibling bickering, the fact that they’re firefighters (sucker for a uniform), and the description of their Mami, I am going to really like their family.

I am not sure yet how I feel about Sara. Already I want her to stand up for herself and have more confidence in who she is with her family, but at the same time, it has allowed the trope of fake fiance to create what I hope will be an amazing couple. Based just on the excerpt, I think the cliche trope of fake fiance is getting a fresh look with Cuban culture, bilingual characters, and family secrets.
