"In the night of memory" follows the journey of two lost sisters Azure and Rain as they make their way home after being abandoned by their mother, Loretta.

While the premise of this novel was very interesting and I wanted to read more about native culture written by native Americans, I wasn't invested in the story. The plot seems quite disjointed and there were many points in the story that I found confusing. I felt that the author's writing style wasn't for me. Having said that, it is insightful the fact that the author approached subjects such as "Indian Child Welfare Act" and Native American community's reality (struggles, challenges,...).

Even though this book didn't work for me, if you have the curiosity about learning other cultures (mainly native culture), you should pick it up.
