Heartbreaking insight on the life of a Native American

First of all, let me say that I would have not picked out this book if I did not get an advanced reader copy, because it is not my genre, so I am so glad I got this through Bookish because I was missing a really well written and compelling story.
Really heartbreaking...it will make you sad and you will feel a great sense of injustice for the characters in this book. This book brings about so many issues about the Native American issues, and I feel I am particularly interested to those now because I just came back from a trip to New Mexico, where I learned as the settler really destroyed the Native's culture, forcing them to enter a society they did not want to be part of.
If you like the Native Americans' culture and history, this is the book for you!
