The author does such a masterful job of describing the apartment that Rainy and Azure live in that you cannot only see it, you are enveloped in the smells as well. I can't imagine giving two small girls to the county because, as their mother, I can't function enough to take care of them!
The story jumps from present day, to past, to somewhere in between seamlessly, all while the girls are continuously hearing or seeing their mother in the crowds of people. I can't wait to see how each of the girls make it through this ugly situation and if they will come out on the other side in one piece.
