It's hard to write this review as the subject matter really didn't appeal to me, but other than some explicit parts that I didn't care for, the story itself was more appealing.

Imagine not being in a relationship for 3 years, ok, call it what it is which is no sex for 3 years. Then find yourself open to the idea of sex with other women; maybe it's been 3 years as men just don't do it for you? Maybe it's more fun with women?

This book is all about exploring new ideas when it comes to sex with someone of the same sex. It is not really about romance with the sex, except on Julia's part. Her partner Sam, much more experienced and anxious to teach Julia everything there is, is too manipulative for my taste. She cajoles Julia into experiences that maybe go too far, at least for a beginner.

Sam was not likable and many of her friends were too over the top for me. It started off funny, then Sam came along and the tone changed. I couldn't relate so I stopped reading about halfway through and probably won't bother picking it up again. The sex parts weren't uncomfortable, but they were way more explicit than they needed to be unless you are looking for a primer on how to have lesbian sex. Not my thing.

Thank you NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
