I really struggled with this one. I wanted to love it and it started out quite good, funny and fresh but as the book continued it just fell apart for me. I appreciate the attempt to show how a seemingly fun relationship can devolve into a controlling and abusive one and I actually found that depiction quite accurate. But it just became a really different book. I especially hated a scene showing non-consensual bdsm involving a pretty racist caricature of a Mexican drug dealer (and terrible Spanish). The imagery just came out of nowhere and unnecessarily stereotyped Mexicans solely for two white women's fantastical sexual experience, not to mention the very limited breakdown of the lack of consent. Either way, it killed the book for me.
