I'm In All the Way!
In at the Deep End by Kate Davies was one of my favorite reads last year! I fell hard for the main character from the first few pages. Her stumbling attempts to connect with men had me laughing so hard I was crying. I was also cringing with shared embarrassment at these attempts and was rooting for her when she gave up men to tiptoe toward the realm of female relationships instead. Scratch that- there was no tiptoeing; she dove right in at the deep end!
I love how Kate Davies skillfully drew me into the new relationship. I was so enthusiastic about it, I nearly missed the warning signs. In retrospect, they were glaring but hindsight is 20-20 and by the time you realize what a mess you're in, you're already so deep it's hard to resurface.
A brilliant portrayal of a new way of life and love, as well as the damaging ways a manipulative partner can drag you under. I can't wait to read more from this author!
