This book was hilarious and witty, awkward and educational, yet also serious and moving. I really liked the main character Julia, and how she moved through life, because as an awkward person who doesn't know what she's doing half the time, it was very relatable. Seeing her transition not only into her lesbian life, but into a controlling relationship that was a struggle to get out of was very heartfelt and made me anxious for her to get out of the dangerous situation she was in. I really admired her friends and family for being so supportive of her, but also being there for her every time she needed them, even if she hadn't been there for them recently because of her relationship. I was educated so much by the lesbianism, for which I'm grateful. I enjoyed this moving story and the plot, but definitely the way the author wrote.
