Everything I read by this author is pure gold. I've enjjoyed all of her works to date so this one was a no brainer for me. From the first chapter, I was hooked. This book tackles some heavy-hitting themes like anger and revenge and loss and learning how to be do good when saddled with immense power.

The friendships were excellent and provided voices of reason at times when he needed it most. The setting of Nigeria was fantastic and the action was steady enough not to bore anyone, especially kids with short attention spans

Although I flew through this book, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. It has a character to root for, realistic emotions and a dark setting and fierce friendships. I will be adding this to my middle-grade bookshelf ASAP.
