Nnedi Okafor has quickly became one of my favorite authors. Her stories are very beautifully written but in a way that has a very easy flow. For this particular tale of Ikanga I read it with my son. We both really enjoyed the story, characters, and the writing style. The author does a great job at incorporating African culture, myths, and legends. We always look forward to hearing more about cultures that are not our own and especially hearing about the magic other cultures believe in. This story was a very heart felt one and we both thought it was very well done. It was intriguing enough to keep both of our attention and to keep us reading it together. I highly recommend reading this for any age group. It was very informative and I loved hearing about the legend of Ikanga. I really can't wait to see what else this author will do and to learn more about the culture.
