This was a great coming of age story that teaches Nnamdi how to control his anger and not seek revenge through murder. I was completely invested in the story once I knew magic would be involved. I loved the references to other superheros and that I was under of what kind of being was being presented in this story. Was the man a hero or a monster? This is something the reader doesn't know through most of the book and I liked that it kept me on my toes and holding my breath. I didn't want to see the man die but I was also afraid he would accidentally kill someone. There were lots of surprises people i thought were bad that weren't which were also lessons for Nnamdi to figure out along the way.
