A great introduction to culture with an action packed story!
As an adult, I really enjoyed this story, and definitely recommend it to younger, middle grade readers! This book not only has a page-turning plot, but also introduces you to African culture.
Learning about another culture is great for younger readers, to gain exposure and perspective. It was very interesting to see the culture woven into this story.
The mystery behind the death of Nnamdi’s father grabbed me from the start, but then the magic kept me hooked. The magic that Nnamdi discovers adds a nice touch of fantasy to the story. It transforms him into a superhero. I enjoyed seeing Nnamdi learn and adapt to his newfound abilities.
