This is one of the best middle grade stories I've read in a long time. I love that the writing isn't pandering to youth; it is just as entertaining to me as an adult as it would be to a child. I love how deeply we are immersed in Nnamdi's experience of losing his father and continuing to go on with his life. Only in the third chapter to things start to change for him and I look forward to seeing what happens after this!
