This is a great story for middle-grade readers! The writing was easy to follow and understand. The beginning felt kind of slow, but that’s because the story was being set up by giving background information. The story was just starting to really grab my attention! A ghost of Nnamdi’s father shows up and gives him a little figure, called an Ikenga, that seems to give Nnamdi powers to fight off the criminals in the town. I’m interested to see what the Ikenga’s full powers are, and how Nnamdi can use them to avenge his father.
