First of all, can we talk about how exquisite the cover art is? From the child's face, to the looming figure behind him, this cover will certainly draw many middle grade readers in immediately. While supernatural powers are not necessarily my favorite ingredients for a must-read, I know middle grade readers feel quite the opposite, and after reading this First Look, I can say that this one will be a big hit. While the subject matter is emotional, as evidenced by the boy's face on the cover, I think this is a book that many young readers will be able to relate to. This is so well-written and is really going to be one that will be talked about among librarians this year. Kudos!
