This story hooked me immediately. Alice's painful struggle to reconcile her anxiety and ambition with her family's limitations is instantly relatable. The author has done a wonderful job of setting the scene and introducing the characters and I am excited to read more. The cover is interesting; it draws me in and invites a closer look.
