I'm really enjoying where this book is headed! I'm a big fan of speculative fiction, and I love how a well-placed speculative element can completely change the mood and trajectory of a story.
I love how much tension is already at play so early in If "You Could See the Sun," and am excited to see how Alice handles the many wrenches that have been thrown into her plans. I'm also sensing a potential rivals to friends? subplot, which is of course a favorite trope.
