First of all, I am not a fan of the cover art. If I saw this novel at the library or bookstore, my eyes would slide right over the pop art and go onto another book. The story is similar to those I have read before, but that is not why I would not purchase it. I would pass on the book because I am not a fan of the writing style. The sentences are choppy and the author starts sentences with "but" and "and", a practice that is now accepted, but was drilled into me as being wrong in childhood.
