I thought this was a fun start to a very summery book! I got a really good impression of the protagonist and his friends from this excerpt, and was struck by how authentically they felt like real high school boys (without being annoying). I'm also invested in the problem set up of Zack taking on the responsibility for his captain's prank and simply assuming he'll come clean eventually--that seems to be setting up some really good conflict for later.
