Gayle Forman is an incredible writer, and everything about this book was amazing, as expected. She has this perfect way of stretching the events of a day out to fill 300 pages without being repetitive and simultaneously leaves the reader on edge. I really loved that the story was set in New York, a city I am very familiar with. It felt like I was with the characters throughout their adventure. She did an amazing job crafting the characters and the relationships among them. Nothing felt unnatural or forced, the characters, as well as the story itself, were very real. Additionally, Gayle Forman did a great job of balancing and incorporating said relationships into the plot. Many authors focus either too much or too little on relationships, especially romantic ones, making them sound really cringy, which was something Forman stayed away from. I loved this book. I saw a piece of myself in each character, and the story was just incredible. It left me both wrecked and inspired. Again, I think Gayle Forman is an incredible writer, and it was very well reflected in this book.
