I personally was devastated by this book. I am a big reader of books that take place on a whim, a last chance, a chance encounter after years gone by. Gayle Forman has a fantastic ability to write books like this, that exist in a specific amount of time, where we have the thought of lost time or running out of time as a looming presence, an elephant in the room.
This book did nothing to capture the magic that her books usually hold, making me thoroughly disappointed. I felt like this book was just made for people who are not me. Whether it's my age or the contemporary fiction genre. I was really devastated by my lack of interest in this book. I would absolutely read another book of hers in the future, still.
