The premise of the individual character's backgrounds are all very interesting: the singer who cannot find her voice, a stifled young man yearning to be free, and the traveler hoping to find himself in the unknown.

Yet, as compelling as their background stories and inner turmoils are, there are times when the narrative is a bit impersonal and shifts to a 'matter of fact' tone in addition to the shifting narratives. It's a sharp contrast that breaks a reader's concentration at times. Also finding the flow and the initial encounter from the characters to be a bit abrupt at the beginning.

There is a lot of interest at the beginning but it is lacking a bit of dynamics from the character's interactions to the driving forces behind their actions, so it took a bit of time to get through.
