This is a book about 3 young adults all grieving a loss. One the loss of his father and the life he has known, one the loss of what she thought would be her life but more than that loss of her relationship with her sister, and one the loss of his love and possibly his family.
Once again, this book takes place all in one day but packs a lot into that time. The reader is taken on a roller coaster journey of emotions with Freya, Nathaniel, and Harun while they all come to their own personal realizations. The story is not neatly tied up at the end and we, the readers, are left to our own devices to imagine what might happen next. This is one of my favorite things about Gayle Forman's books.
